Upcoming Events
Gourmet Evenings 2009
The Gourmet Evenings at The Chester Grosvenor and Spa are something of an institution. An evening of conviviality and a chance to try an eclectic range of wines and champagnes chosen by our Sommelier. Each wine is then matched with and complemented by Simon Radley’s excellent cuisine.
The evenings includes canapés and an aperitif on arrival followed by a five course gastronomic menu with wines that complement each course.
Bollinger Champagne
Wednesday 2nd December 2009.
Madame Lilly Bollinger once famously said: “I drink it when I’m happy and when I’m sad. Sometimes I drink it when I’m alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I’m not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise, I never touch it – unless I’m thirsty.”
Champagne Bollinger was founded in 1829, and is still 100% family owned today. Somewhat unusually for a Champagne House, Bollinger have been growers and producers from the outset and a minimum of 70% of Bollinger's grape supply comes from its own vineyards. Bollinger was made an official supplier to the British court in 1884, receiving a Royal Warrant from Queen Victoria.
Join us to experience the exceptional Bollinger range matched with Simon Radley’s exquisite cuisine as Simon Leschallas, Director of Mentzendorff, agents for Bollinger since 1858 explains how the family’s exacting standards have made Bollinger a watchword for quality Champagne.
£195.00 per person.
