Facilities

Delicatessen
The delicatessen has been stocked with the aim of providing access to ‘proper’ homemade produce, local specialties and a hand-picked selection of top-end products from around the world.
Anything labeled ‘homemade’ is made by us on the premises. Homemade products include an ever-expanding range of chutneys, pickles, pâtés, terrines, salads, cakes and pastries.
Local produce includes artisan breads from 3 local bakers, a range of cured meats and salamis from all over the Northwest (including an amazing Cumbrian bresaola), Cheshire apple juice and a wide range of locally brewed real ales.
Our take-away salad boxes are proving quite a hit. We have a different ‘house salad’ every day, freshly made by our chefs to accompany a delicious slice of homemade tortilla, selection of salami, choice of olives, artichoke hearts, sun-blushed tomatoes, stuffed peppers etc etc.
Free-range local meats are roasted in our kitchen and available by the slice. Sirloin of beef, loin of pork and leg of lamb all feature regularly alongside our legendary chicken liver pâté and Cheshire air dried ham.
We also believe in acknowledging fantastic products from all over the world. It’s not about sourcing locally for the sake of it – first and foremost a product must be seriously good. Olive oil, pasta, prosciutto and salamis are proudly Italian and are some of the best in the world.
Cold roast meat, salami and prosciutto is at its best consumed as soon after slicing as possible – supermarket pre-sliced and vacuum packed versions tend to be far more expensive as well as having lost huge amounts in texture and flavour – not good, especially when they start with an inferior product in the first place. We have the largest range of quality ‘by the slice’ meats in the area and will happily provide samples and advice to help you put together a fantastic selection.
A carefully considered selection of wines spirits and liqueurs from around the world are available – each offering a fine example of their type. A growing number of Brit’s also make an appearance – Kent’s Chapel Down winery supply us with their award-winning champagne style fizz as well as their excellent Bacchus and Tenterden rosés and white wines. A single malt Welsh whisky, Welsh ‘Brecon’ gin, Herefordshire cassis and Welsh vodka can also be found propping up an ever expanding range of bottled beers from Weetwood, Woodlands and other local, small-scale breweries.

Restaurant
With only a handful of tables, our dining room is a cosy, intimate and stylish space.
The restaurant menu focuses on fresh, seasonal and local produce. As such, it is revised daily, operating much like a specials board.
Lunch is served between midday and 3pm on a ‘no bookings’, first-come-first-served basis. Turn-around is normally quite prompt and tables tend to be available quickly even during busy periods. Sunday lunch (far too important an event to leave to chance) is the exception to this rule – booking recommended!
Dinner is served from 6 till 10pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Call us on 01244 344 295 to make a reservation.

Private Booking
The Joseph Benjamin dining room is available for private hire and can be put to a variety of uses, from business breakfast meetings and informal lunches to gourmet tasting dinners and more elaborate parties - an event can be tailored to your exact requirements.
Typical party menus start at £30 per person for a 4/5 course tasting menu and would be designed for each individual event based on local and seasonal availability of produce as well your particular preferences.
With capacity for up to 18 diners, private evening hire of the room is subject to a minimum spend of £500 including food and beverages. Events at other times of day can be quoted on a case by case basis – Just call and ask for Ben or Joe.
Suitable events can be as run-of-the-mill or as abstract as you like. In the past we have catered for events including: Burns Night Supper, 21st, 30th, 50th and 60th Birthday Parties, St Patrick's Day Dinner, Christmas Parties, Valentines dinner for 17 (it’s true; eight couples plus one!) Various business dinners and meetings.
Just call and ask for Ben or Joe for more details or to discuss your exact requirements.
